House Gutters steel gutters in the greater Brisbane and Ipswich areas.
In the past when you talked about using steel gutters you were most likely referring to using galvanised steel, today when you talk about using steel gutters you’re probably talking about using COLORBOND® steel gutters.
COLORBOND® steel gutters have virtually replaced galvanized steel gutters in Australia, the performance of COLORBOND® steel gutters is by far the most compelling reason to choose COLORBOND® steel gutters over galvanized steel gutters when considering gutter replacement in conjunction with a modern surface roofing material.
Drip-spot corrosion or galvanic corrosion is the enemy of galvanized steel gutters, drip spot corrosion occurs when water from an inert modern roofing material drips onto a galvanized steel surface (which is not inert)such as a galvanized gutter, as the water drips into the gutter the zinc surface is gradually removed and that’s when rust spots start to appear.
When water flows over an inert surface such as the surface of today’s roofing materials, the water doesn’t collect any of the surface materials in solution as it would if flowing over a galvanized surface or unglazed roof tiles, that means that the water is almost pure and free of any contaminants that would normally react with the galvanized surface to form an erosion resistant membrane over the galvanized surface.
COLORBOND® steel gutters are extremely easy to clean, require little preventative maintenance, perhaps twice annually to remove debris build up inside the gutter, are more resistant to damage from ladders than the softer aluminium gutters, are relatively light weight, easy to install and are available in many different profiles.
